Dr. Vicki Kalen is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Principal Investigator at Del Sol Research Management, bringing over 40 years of expertise in clinical medicine, academic leadership, and advanced clinical research. She earned her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Temple University Health Sciences Center, with additional fellowship training at Stanford Children’s Hospital in pediatric orthopedics and rehabilitation.
Dr. Kalen has held numerous faculty and leadership roles at top institutions including Stanford, the University of Florida, and the University of Arizona, where she also served as Chief of Pediatric Orthopedics. Her commitment to innovation in patient care led her to become a leading figure in clinical research, with a portfolio of over 100 complex, multisystem trials spanning osteoarthritis, diabetes, women’s health, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic liver disease, and preventive vaccine development including COVID-19, RSV, and influenza.
Since joining Del Sol Research in 2021, Dr. Kalen has served as Principal and Sub-Investigator on a broad range of Phase II–IV trials. Her extensive background in both orthopedic and internal medicine populations makes her uniquely qualified to support diverse and high-impact studies that advance medical science and improve patient outcomes.
